About RLB
Robert's( RLB) beginnings were humble. Born in New York, he grew up among a family of artists and artisans, but he became the black sheep of the family by going to medical school instead.
While medicine was his livelihood, photography was always a passion. After retiring from his 40 year practice, his penchant for the arts was reactivated; after all, it is in his DNA.
After some theatrical experience in NY and California and living in Tuscany, his passion for people greatly influences his work. "Photography allows a person to 'slow time down'. We are inundated by too much information." Along with people, scenes of isolation are also a major fascination and present in much of his work.
Now at 70 years of age, he enjoys the freedom of living a quiet life in Northern Michigan with his wife and Maggie, their loyal standard black schnauzer. Their two sons live in Chicago and Traverse City.
"We are excited to share these photographic moments with you." -RLB
